Laser Hair Removal Pre & Post Care

LASER HAIR REMOVAL PRE & POST CARE INSTRUCTIONS

We’re proud to offer the most advanced hair reduction technology with the Venus Velocity – this new, state of the art, diode laser uses an ice cold plate at the surface of the machine to cool the skin during your treatment. This perfectly crafted technology allows us to treat in 1/2 the time as older laser hair removal devices. Marketed as one of the ‘virtually painless” devices, we receive feedback of minimal discomfort from most of our clients. This machine is safe for most skin types and after minimal sun exposure.

Similar to most treatment processes and identical technology as the Soprano Ice laser, with the Venus Velocity we recommend 6-10 treatments in the first 12 months for optimal results. This treatment plan has been used to treat thousands of clients over the last several years with incredible success. It is crucial to follow the treamtment plan reccomended by our experts. When several months go by in between treatments, this will greatly effect the outcome of your longterm results. Each client varies and we do our best to treat each and every client. Laser hair removal packages never expire.

Pre Care :

  • Even though our state of the art machine, the Venus Velocity is great for MOST skin types, it is still important to avoid regular sun exposure, including tanning beds throughout your laser treatment process. This means the entire duration you are receiving consistent treatment.

  • Avoid any and all artificial tanning such as lotions, sprays and booths for at least 7 days leading up to your appointment. If you know you’ll have a spray tan please plan accordingly and reschedule your appointment with notice.

  • Shave the day of or the day before your appointment as close to the skin as possible. Please shave all reachable areas, including your back and back strip of your brazilian as best you can.

  • Do not apply lotions, oils, creams or perfumes on skin prior to your appointment.

  • Remember, we cannot laser any part of your body that is covered with a tattoo or permanent makeup.

  • We do not laser pregnant or breastfeeding women under any circumstance.

Post Care :

  • It is normal to have red/pink irritation to the skin and/or feel like you have a mild sunburn for a few hours following your laser hair removal treatment. If necessary you can apply an ice pack, aloe vera gel, sunburn cream or antibiotic ointment.

  • It is important to keep all treated areas clean after treatment and wear sun screen if you’re going to be in the sun. Any moisturizer without mineral oils and alpha-hydroxy acids will work.

  • Do not workout, sit in a hot tub/sauna or apply deodorant, make up, fragrant moisturizers and creams for 24 hours following each laser hair removal treatment and as long as any irritation persists.

  • Once all irritation has subsided it is OK to apply make up on top of the treated areas, work out, enter a hot tub or sauna and go about your regular routine.

  • Avoid sun exposure for up to 2 weeks to reduce the chance of dark or light spots appearing on the surface of the skin. Use sunscreen SPF25 or higher at all times throughout the treatment and for 1-2 months following.

  • Avoid picking or scratching the treated skin. DO NOT USE any other hair removal methods or products on the treated area during the course of your laser treatments (shaving is OK between treatments), as it will prevent you from achieving your best results and may cause scaring. (This mostly refers to waxing, tweezing and epilation methods.)

Frequently Asked Questions:

Laser hair removal treatments should be tolerable. While it all depends on your threshold for pain, most people say that it feels like snapping a warm rubber band against the skin, with little to no lingering discomfort. But if you’re overly sensitive to pain we recommend looking at our Comfort Menu for ways to ease your nerves and discomfort.

The answer is yes. Laser hair removal has been approved by the FDA since1977. Don’t worry, the machines have com a long way since then and we’re happy to say we have one of the newest and most advances laser hair removal devices on the market, the Venus Velocity.  The laws in the United States vary state to state on who is allowed to operate a laser. We hand pick highly trained and experienced technicians to ensure the highest level of customer service and results.

Laser hair removal uses pulsed laser energy to damage hair follicles. Once a laser is fired to the skin, it is attracted to any pigment in the path of the laser. For this reason it is important to shave the area being treated, as close to the skin as possible. This allows the laser energy to be focused only on the hairs just under the skin, not any hair laying on the surface of the skin. If hairs are not shaven close to the skin and are laying on the surface, this not only prevents the laser from sending all of its energy down to the follicle of the hair, it also risks burning your skin, as all of the energy will be absorbed on the top of the skin. For this same reason it becomes a risk to treat certain skin types. Because hair grows in cycles and not all hairs are active at any given time, several treatments are necessary for optimal results.

The cost of laser hair removal varies depending upon the areas being treated. At Timeless Laser we offer significant discounts for purchasing a package of 1 or more areas.

There is no magic laser on the market that will rid your body of hair forever. Each client is different and everyone will need maintenance treatments from time to time. It is important to understand laser hair removal is actually permanent hair reduction and each clients experience is different. We treat based off of years of experience and treating over 1,000 clients. Our carefully crafted treatment plan is one that fits most. That treatment plan is, 6-10 treatments on any given area of the body in the first 12 months. 2-4 treatments a year are recommended for maintenance treatments and to keep the hair mostly gone. Any package purchased with us for laser hair removal never expires.

We do not treat any pregnant or nursing women.

Our service providers never expect and always appreciate tips. Tips are always at your discretion and when asked a necessary amount, we believe up to 20% is always appreciated.

Laser removal can be performed on any area of the body however we do not shape eyebrows or treat inside the nose.

While it’s safe to treat most skin types and hair types, only certain people will see optimal and long lasting results. Unfortunately because of the attraction between a laser and pigment, laser hair removal does not work on red or blonde hair. Our laser is safe for most skin types and if you’re unsure if your skin is too dark, we recommend booking a consultation. Those with light skin and black hair are the most ideal candidates for laser hair removal.

Our advanced machine allows for very little to no risk and side effects. While all treatments come with some sort of risk, the most common we see is mild inflammation of hair follicles and redness. In a rare occasion treatment may result in hypo or hyperpigmentation, blistering, burning, infection and scarring. You may apply anything you would put on a sun burn, aloe or an ice pack and it is crucial to keep the area clean of sweat and debris.
